PLEASE NOTE The point marked on the map is not the location of the Arches – just the nearest point on the road! The Arches are to the south west of the marker, about 200m along the river.
Dukesfield Arches are between Slaley and Whitley Chapel to the south of Hexham in Northumberland. They are on a public right of way, about 200m from the road. You can walk down the level, unsurfaced track which follows the Devil’s Water burn along the valley floor through tranquil woodlands. You can’t miss the Arches!
Download one of our walk leaflets – the maps are more accurate and they point out things you might otherwise miss!
There are no facilities on site, but there are pubs & a cafe locally – The Travellers Rest and The Rose and Crown in Slaley, The Dipton Mill Inn (who brewed our Oresome Ale), and there’s also a cafe at the Hollybush Garden Centre.
