I desire that youll send me as soon as you conveniently can an acco[un]t of the quantity of Lead you have rec[eive]d f’m each of the Rookhope Carriagemen – I find Mr Peart has been intimating when in Rookhope last week that Mr Smith should send a particular acco[un]t of the delivery f’m the mill to you; if it’s a fault that it’s not sent the fault is in me for he has my orders not to send such an acco[un]t. when I next see Mr Blackett shall indeavour to exculpate myself of it – I do as[s]ure you that it’s not don[e] with any disrespect to you or any other Person concerned in the Business –

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
