To Mr John Cross at Leeds 						18th Janry 1760



Dear Sir   

	I have received your letter of the 14th inst with your receipt for sixty pounds for the half years payment due from Sir Walter Blackett the 24th ulto and Mr Robson being here yesterday I paid him 18£ agreable to your order, and I have sent you by Warburton the carrier the remaining 42£ which I hope will come safe to hand , I have also you by him a small parcell containing a Deed which Sir Walter desires you will forward to Parson Bewick at Calverly by the first opportunity I heartily wish you many happy years    I am   &c     HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
