To Mr Ralph Heron at Hexham                                                            Newca[stle] 29th Decr 1768

Sir

I have returned the Engrossments of the Articles for the purchase of Hexham East Ferry: which I don’t doubt are according to the draught. But I desire if Mrs Jurin is at the Hermitage you will take the trouble of waiting upon her with them & the Dra[ugh]t that she may compare them if she pleases before she executes which she promised to do & when she has executed I desire you will return them to me & place the Charge attending this Business to Sr Wr Blackett’s Account.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
