To Sir Wr Blackett Baro[ne]t MP in Half Moon Street Piccadilly London Newca[stle] 28 Janry 1769 Hon[ou]r[e]d Sir Inclosed are Bell Cookson & Cos two bills on Glyn & Hallifax as above for one Thousand pounds which I have got at as short a date as I could; & you will please to advise the receipt of them. I dare say I shall find the want of this Sum in April next when Dukesfield pay must be made unless you can replace it against that time. Mr Blackett seems to be of the same opinion with Mr Peareth as to the Shares in the new water Company. I have not heard any Thing more abo[u]t the Leather trade than that the Cordwainers Company here have subscribed towards the expence of the application to parliament: but I do not find the Tanners are so sanguine. The good Account you give of your Health is the best news I can learn. P.S. Mr Waters set off to day from ’Change for London. I believe all is calm among the Keelmen; but if there is any Thing particular relating to the Copies of the bill about their hospital he is well informed of it, being deeply in that business: I mean the Fitting business. Major Carr is still abroad. I am etc HR £500 Newcastle Bank 28th Janry 1769 Twenty five days after date pay to the order of Mr Henry Richmond Five hundred pounds value received.
