Sir      I am sorry for the Accident that has happened to you & wish you a good recovery of it,

   As to the Accot. of your Ore, I know nothing of it: but when Mr Maughan comes to Town, which I expect will be soon, I shall ask him about it.  If it is right I shall get him to sign it, and then I shall send it to you with a receipt upon it for you to sign and return me by the Person you would have the Money paid to,                 I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
