To Wm Corbett Esqr



Sir

	I recd. the Boards Minutes of the 21 Inst and shall observe them.

	Inclosed is Mr Tho Simpson (Court keeper for the manor of Alston) his Bill of law Charges for Law Business done for the Com[issoner]s of Greenwich Hospital Amounting to £13:15:8 which please to lay before the Board for their Directions that it may be paid; the Cheif Charge in it was occasiond by one Carrick (Spirited by Mr Hodgshon) to take away by force a Cow from one Furnace which he had bought of the Bayliff of the Manor, that had been seized by an Execution granted by the Steward of Alston Court and by the said Bailiff sold at the Markett Cross to the said Furnace.

	Mr Simpson has Managed so well that he has <preserve> the Authority of the Court and at this time has Carrick in Carlisle Goal for the said Offence and now we remain quiet and undisturbd in that Quarter.

	Please to Move the Board for the Orders and Directions for Calling upon the Customary Tenants at Keswick for the Certain Yearly Rents, there has been none paid since the Estate came to the Hospital, nor fines neither  - not withstanding of the Late Act of Parliament.

	One John Corbett formerly mentioned a Tenant at Allerwash of about £19 – 0 a Year has held over against us ever since May[day] 1737 and pays no Rent, Please to Acquaint the Board about it, and beg that I may have Directions therein. He plainly says he will not remove, unless we drive him off by Force. I am
