       I have herewith sent you a plate of Silver weighing 901 Ounces just taken off wth. out an Accot. of the Lead &c as we had not time to get the Reduced Ld. weighd. to save this days Carrier & being informed that no Carriers will go f’m Hexham next Week being Chrismas, so shall bring the Accot. of the Lead &c with me on Monday & am Yrs. &c I:H: Jr:

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
