Sir     Inclosed you have a Bill drawn by Messrs. Bell Cookson & Cos on  Messrs. Hallifax & Co. at ten days date for One Thousand Pounds.  I am directed by Sir Wr. Blackett to send to you & which you will please immediately to pay into the hands of Messrs. Meyrick & Sons Agents in Parliament Street on the Account of Lieutenant Scott of the 17th Regiment of Foot   £950 of which Sum is for the purchase of a Company in the said Regiment     the remaining £50 on Lieutt Scotts Account  _  Please to acknowledge the receipt of this Bill and acquaint me with the payment of it,                                 I am etc                       J E B

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
