Dr Sir

       I this day attended a Meeting of the Creditors of Mess.< Anty> Easterby & Co. from 12 to 3 o’clock and inclose you a Copy of their statement of their affairs as well as of the resolutions come to at the meeting, the former of which I am induced to believe will be found to be very fallacious – The Committee have appointed to meet on Monday morning in order to investigate the Acco[un]ts. produced at this meeting & the Deputation will proceed to the View of Arkendale Leadmine on Monday senight, the issue of which I hope may prove favourable – Inclosed is Sir Wm. Loraine & Cos. Bill [in margin: Bill No. 359] at One Mo. on Veres & Co. for One Thousand Pounds the receipt of which you will be pleased to acknowledge & you will oblige -yours &c  J:E:B:

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
