Sir       I received your favour of the 10th inst. by which I observe that you decline Accepting of the Offer that I made you for the Exchange of Thos. Hepple’s life in the Lead Mine Leases.

     As I differ so widely with you in Opinion as to the state of Health that Hepple is in, I Agree with you that it is needless saying anything more on the Subject.   I am etc    J. E. Blackett

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
