The Revd Mr Lushington Newcastle Nov. 2nd 1785 Mendish House near Cambridge Dear Sir There being a Vacancy of a School Master of St Andrews Charity School, by the late Master Mr Dees being appointed to the Charity School of St Nicholas, the several Persons whose names are undermentioned have offered themselves to succeed him; Mr George Richardson who at present teaches a School in this place, & is of the Church of England is very strongly recommended to me by the Churchwardens of St Andrews Parish, & has produced a Certificate signed by a Number of Persons of Character as to his Moral Character, his Abilities as a Schoolmaster as well as his Sobriety & Diligence; As there is a Necessity that the Vacancy should be filled up as soon as possible, If his appointment should meet with your Approbation?
