Gentn	I wrote to Mr Beaumont by Express the 18th inst & yesterday by Post concerning his Lead Pays which I now in great hopes he will have it in his power to make at the time it was appointed & that Messrs Surtees & Burdon may be able with safety to themselves to assist us with a considerable Sum in their Notes of which they will advise you by Tuesdays Post against which time they say that they can from a judgement of that Matter but I think that there will not be any doubt of it.

	I yesterday placed in the hands of Messrs Surtees & Burdon 4 Bills of £2500 each which I that morning received they are drawn by John Hall of this place on Lancaster & Co dated 1.2.3 & 4 inst at 2 Mo[nth]s & are on the Accot of Thos R Beaumont Esqr they would be sent by this mornings Post, I heard this day at 2 O’Clock that Mr Hall the drawer died suddenly this morning I thought it advisable to give you the most early Notice of the same & I hope before this reaches you that the Bills are Accepted by Lancaster & Co _ Mr Hall purchased 9500p[iece]s Lead of Mr Beaumont’s for Lancaster & Co which is not all delivered & of course no payments have been made on that Accot.  I submit it to you Gentn whither it may not be advisable for Mr Beaumont to wait upon Lancaster & Co & to have some conversation with them on the business  As I don’t write to Mr Beaumont be pleased to communicate this matter to him as soon as possible                                    I am etc       J.E.B
