Letter – John Erasmus Blackett to Thomas Wall – 18 Jun 1779

Sir     I am favoured with your Letter of the 12th instant acknowledging the Receipt of the Bill for £200     On Monday the 21st instant I shall send you by the Fly a Conveyance of a Fishery at Berwick which Sir John Trevelyan has sold & the Conveyance is to be executed by him     As I imagine Sir John has left London I must desire that you will send it to him to be executed that it may be returned to me as soon as possible; for the Purchase money will not be paid till they are in Possession of the Deeds     The Schedule I mentioned in my last Letter will go with the Conveyance.   I fear Sir Thomas Blackett will be under a Necessity of parting with his Agent Robert Morrow who is so totally given up to Liquor that Sir Thomas’s Concerns are neglected.   If this should be the Case its probable his Sons will think themselves no longer obliged to pay the £30 a Year on Sir John Trevelyans Acco[un]t.

     In your next please to advise me what Sum they have paid towards their Fathers Debt & if they are under an Obligation to continue the Payments till the whole Debt is paid.
