	I received your Letters of the 24h & 26h Ulto the former Inclosing Mr Thurlow’s Receipt for £157.10s.0d; being half a years Composition for his Tythe Ore.  the receipt is not quite regular being made received by the hands of Mr Richmond, but as you say it will be attended with Difficulty to get it rectified I must be satisfied  with it - I observe that your quarterly & other Payments on Account of Sir Walter Blackett to the 30 Septemr next amount to £182 6s 6d.  Inclosed you have Messrs Bell and Cos bill on Messrs Castell Whaley & Powell at 30 days date for One hundred and Eighty two Pounds on Account of these Payments: likewise said Gentlemen’s Bill at the same date on Castell and Co for One hundred & fifty Pounds on Sir Walter Blacketts private Account - I desire you will place the said Bills to the Separate Accounts.  sending me the usual Receipt for the former & that you’ll acknowledge to Sr Wr Blackett the receipt of the Bill for £150.0s.0d - I also inclose you another Bill of Bell & Cos on Castell and Co at 20 days date for Five hundred Pounds which I have endorsed to you & I desire you will place it to my Account advising me of the Receipt.  I intend it to enable you to pay the half Years Interest which will be due to Sir Edwd Winnington on the 6h instant on Sir Walter Blacketts Mortgage of Wallington   P.S.  Sir Walter Blackett desires that the Acts for the Turnpike Roads & the private Roads may be sent him.              I am etc             J.E.B.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
