Brownley Hill Newcastle 12 January 1808 Lead Company – directed to Ant[hon]y Hopper Esq Newcastle I am informed that you have been repeatedly applied to for payment of Ore wrought past the <Bounder> Ditch into the Manor of Hexham, without effect. It becomes my duty on behalf of T R Beaumont Esq to request that you will not delay any longer making the necessary satisfaction for which purpose I enclose a copy of the Report made by Mr Thomas Dodd Matthew Fairless and Joseph Dickenson and I am etc MM February 26th 1786 upon viewing the North End of Moss Cross Vein in the great Limestone wrought by Brownley Hill Company three fathoms past the Bounder Ditch into the Manor of Hexham. We all agree and are of opinion that not less than 90 Bings of Ore have been raised in Sir Thomas Blacketts’ Liberty and taken away by the above named Company – Signed Tho[mas] Dodd Matt[he]w Fairless Jo[seph] Dickinson
