I desire you will please to Enquire of some of your merchants that trades for Legorne, and know of them w[ha]t they would desire freight for 20 Last of wheate and beanes how much for each and if they will make a bulks head for itt, and be reasonable I will have itt ready for them att your place, against w[ha]t time they shall desire your Answer pray despatch unto MB

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
