Sirs

	In Obedience to the Boards order of the 31st Janry last we have viewed Scremerston Collry again & in order that we might be safe in the view, and give the Board the utmost satisfaction we possibly can, have Employed Mr James Burns an Able Viewer, to view along with us the said Colliery & give his Opinion & a sketch & a Computation of bringing up the said Levell.

	The Breadth that will be Winn by this Levell is abt. 90 yards and if something unforeseen does not happen in the Execution of this worke, this Levell may be brought up for £530 – as the Ten[ant]s  have not above 12 Months worke before all the Coale they can get by this winning is wrought out & it will Require by the Computation 52 Weeks or a Year to bring the Levell up, something should be Determined upon soon for the present tents.are for Petitioning the Board for an Allow[an]ceor an abatemt.in Rent till she is winn  we are
