Ravensworth Castle . 23d Febry. 1738/9 To Wm. Corbett Esqr, London Sir Inclosed is the acct of Bricks & Tyles made & sold at Dilston &c for the Last Year Endg the 31st Decemb.:1738 by wch it appears there is a Gain to the Hospital of £102.4.2d. Inclosed is also John Skins accot. for making Bricks & Tyles for the Last Year Ending at the same time by wch there is a Ballance due to him for the Years worke of £13.6.8 ½ both which we hope the Board will approve of. We find in looking over our last Quarters Contin[gent] Accot. sent the Board we have omitted a paym.t or an Allow.ce of £15.16.6 made Thomas Laidler & Wm. Forster the 30th Decemb last for Damage of Ground they sustained by Gerrard Readheads Leaving no Fallow & Eating up the pasture ground after Mayday that Year that the Said Readheads Goods were sold fo an Arrear of Rent he owed the Hospital fo part of Whittle Farm. We were Oblidged to Referr the said Damage to two men one Chose by the Tenants & the other Chose by us on the Hospitals accot. and this is the sum they awarded the Tenants and indeed we think it was little enough for the Hardships they had at Entring. we desire youle please to lay it before the Board for their approbation we are Sr Your very Humb.
