yours I rec’d in advice of soap sent which is neadful now, being you have delayed so long in sending of it considering how long it is since I writ to you for soape, you may emagen that our fare would be pa[i]d of befor that it could cume to hand which should have ben the chefe time of disposing of it, so pray order it sum other way, for I know not how to <vend> it being so long withoyt I shall give it <house roume> while such time as you dispose of it not else at present but that I am

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
