Previous to which, Returns for Col Beaumont’s Leadmines had been made out in theManner you describe, according to the Quantity of Ore raised in North[umberlan]d & Durham in Order to deliver to the several Commissioners, but which Mr Blackett postponed sending, by the advice of Mr Heron, who is Clerk to the Commissioners at this Place, & who sometime ago transmitted a similar Case for the Opinion of the Board of Taxes respecting the Grand Allies in Regard to their Collieries in this Neighbourhood. Mr Heron is in daily Expectation of an answer to his Case & thinks it unnecessary taking any further steps till he receive it, the Time having elapsed for making Surcharges or Penalties. The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
