      Sometime ago I applied to Mr Emm at Auckland Castle requesting of him, Copies of the Leases last renewed by the Bishop of Durham to Col. Beaumont (in Col. Bts. name) of Lands called Kilhope & Welhope & Lintzgarth to obtain which, he referred me to you.  I have now to request you will favor me with Copies of the same, as last drawn, p[er] the first opportunity . . any expence incurred in procuring the same will be thankfully paid

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
