My dear Sir

Enclosed is a letter I have from a Mr Fairly. It appears to me to be an affair which I should not answer without consulting you upon it. Mr Bell thinks it of consequence <for> he declines saying anything on the Subject. I shall be much obliged to you to enquire into the matter & to write to Mr Bell on the subject. I don't think this is the time for purchasing, unless it is a thing of very material importance, and what he has to sell from the nature of the <soil>, was it judged to be of material benefit could not I think be of any great consequence as to the value. There is no news in Town today . There has been a report, but it did not gain much ground that Guernsey & Jersey are to be attacked.

Mrs Beaumont joins me in best respects.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
