Mr John E Blackett

Sir, In consequence of your last letter to Mr Wm Lee which I saw I request you will inform me whether the price of lead you quoted of £17.10 is on long credit as the last quotation from Hull was £16.10. 3 or 2 mo[nths] and truly it is in your power to serve me better than any of the merchants there. From the connection of my own punctuality I expect you will serve me the most liberal terms & under this presumption. I shall have the pleasure of ordering 40 or 50 tons this Spring for a tryal to be sent to my house at St. Petersburg and about April I shall be obliged to you for the state of your market. I shall be in London next week my address is Newbroad Street No.7

Iam truly Sir your ob. Servt

      Arch'd Paris

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
