Messrs Cox Payser & Co I beg reference to Mr Backhouse Lrs (letters) to you of the 11th and 13th inst advising the shipment of 84 Casks of Litharge to Messrs Sigars & Co and 17 Casks to your order at Gainsbro. On the other side I hand you Invoice of weight of 17 Casks shipped on board the Britain Captain Wise to your address in London and above Invoice of the whole 118 Casks. The shipping Charges of the above 118 Casks amount to £2-18s –which may as well remain unsettled until the 2000 P[iece]s of Lead is shipped. The value of the 2000 P[iece]s Lead taking the 1000 P[iece]s refined at 12 stone each and the 900 P[iece]s Common & 100 P[iece]s slag at 11 stone each will amount to £2020.---- It would be very inconvenient at this time to have it weighed off as our Wharf is undergoing repair and the am[oun]t stated will be as near as & I trust answer all the purposes you require.
