Letters – Benjamin Johnson to Finlay & Hodgson – 11 Jan 1834

      I have duly rec[eive]d your lres  of the 6th & 7th inst and note your sale of two pieces of fine Silver and Payment of the net proceeds to Mr B[eaumon]ts credit at Glyn & Co. I also observe that the parties to whom you offered the the Lead Ore have refused        it will answer our purpose quite as well to make it into Lead. 	The £300 paid on the 9th Feb[ruar]y and the £100 paid on the 12th July to the Railway company was upon Mr B[eaumon]ts original 10 Shares & the £500 paid on the 9th Feb[ruar]y & the £500 paid on the 12 July last was upon Mr B[eaumon]ts 50 Sharesthese sums will I believe agree with my cash acc[oun]t viz £850 on the 9th Feb[ruar]y & £600 on the 12th July.    Your statement of Mr Beaumonts acc[oun]t appears correct. In future the annual payment to the Infirmary must be charged to the Lead acc[oun]t as it is on account of the Workman at the Mines & Mills that it is paid.     When you state that £20,000 must be transferred from the Liqidation fund do you purpose that £13,233-15s-6d of 1832 as a part, and the remainder to come out of the fund of 1834

      The two surviving lives in the Bishop of Hexhams Lease are Sir John Trevellian Bart. Of Nettlecombe in the county of Somerset and Wallington in the county of Northumberland aged about 72 and not yet 73. And Christopher [see annotation below] Senior of Wolley in the County of York Farmer now aged 32 Years.
