Thos Key Limehouse Dec 14th 1833

Your letter of the 3rd inst was not forwarded to me for some days or you should have heard from me sooner. I am glad Messrs Grace & Co have so willingly met the error in the invoice. I am advised by Mr Hodgson of your having purchased of him 3000 P[iece]s Ordinary Ref[ine]d Lead, and at the same price Viz £15 p[er fodder. Mr Crawhall called upon me yesterday and I then stated to him in that we would not deliver any selected refined Lead before the middle or end of March and that our selling price was £16, but that I would let you have 1000 P[iece]s at £15-10 to be delivered at that period. As it however appears that Mr Hodgson would have sold you that quantity at the same Price he obtained for the Ordinary, had he been here we could have del[ivere]d it. I am willing – with <J HW> concurrence that your purchase be extended to that quantity. Our present price of Ref[ine]d Lead is £16 Ordinary £15-10 and Litharge £16-10-

If from 100 to 200 P[iece]s of Selected Ref[ined] would be of great advantage to you we will endeavour to let you have it immediately and the whole 1000 P[iece]s as soon asa we possibly can.
