Sir

As two of the W.Kenton tenants ie Luke Weatherburn & Jos.King are by their Articles to have 12 Months Notice to determine their term, I think it right to acquaint you th[a]t if you do not give them Notice on or before the 12th inst. they will expect to continue 2 y[ea]rs longer at the present rents, Wm.Clarke & Jno.Forsters Articles are determinable on 6 months warning, Chicken & Mavins term will expire 12 May 1756 as will also Thos. Allan's, who has taken his farm for one y[ea]r at 10s advance. I am etc  JR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
