Saturday 18th



Was occupied most of the day at Coupland Castle, in arranging with my Co Trustees, matters relating to the property of the late Mr Cully.  Received a communication from Greenwich & wrote to inform Mr Scott that his resignation of Thornbrough Town Farm would not be accepted unaccompanied by that of Highbarns also, for the reasons stated by the Board.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
