Spent the day at Millfield Hill with the members of my family there. Heard from Mr Forster informing me that he had appointed a meeting with Crile & Partners to propose to them the terms for letting the Coal at Hartburngrainge, a copy of which he Inclosed for my inspection, which I returned with remarks & recommendations on certain points.  Wrote to Mr Lethbridge recommending that the necessary steps for letting the farms be taken with as little delay as possible, as all farmers who are in want of situations, are getting themselves suited, and the landlords who have farms to let are selecting tenants rather with a view to their respectability than to their offering the highest rents.
