Mr Beaumont Nov 17th 1824 I am sorry I am not likely to see you here before next Easter as it appears (if current reports are to be believed) that there is a strong party forming to oppose you at the next election but I cannot find that any individual has positively come forward to offer himself. I think it necessary to make one observation, that in several instances lately I have heard it stated by some who I am convinced are your friends that they think you must be indifferent about it or you would have passed more time in the county. Those who wish to breed mischief say you treat your constituents with too much indifference. I have given Strutt very strict orders about the preservation of the game on the south side indeed I have of late been obliged to be rather severe upon him and have told him that I shall report any neglect of duty on his part or any attempt at insubordination immediately to you.
