Mrs Bradford at Bradford Newcas 1st April 1778 Yorkshire Mad[a]m Mr Blackett has received your Letter of the 21st March & desires me in Answer thereto to acquaint you that the Allowance made you by the late Sir Walter Blackett ceased at his Death to which Time you have been paid in full and that your present Annuity of 12 Guineas is the whole set apart to be paid to you by a Codicil to Sir Walter Blacketts Will. Mr Blackett will duly honor your Bill upon him for your half Years Annuity which was due the 14th February last and will continue to do so as the only mode of paying it with Convenience to himself; unless you should rather approve of drawing the Money of the York Carrier who comes here & giving him a Receipt signed by you as below; In either of these Cases the Money will be paid. I am etc CP 1778 April Received of Sir John Trevelyan Baro[ne]t by John Eras[mus] Blackett Esqr. the Sum of Six Pounds six Shillings being half a Years Annuity due to me the 14th February last left me by Codicil to the late Sir Walter Blacketts Will As witness my hand …………….. £6 . 6 . 0 ……… Witness
