Sir

	Lawyer Wilson desires me to Enquire of you who is now in Possession of a Smelt Mill with 4 Hearths called Scotch Ele.  Also who is in Possession of a Close called Scotch Eele & what Quantity of Land that Close contains & what is the present Rent.  Of what Tenure the Ground is & in what Parish?  Who is the present reputed Owner?  You will please to be particular in informing yourself about this Business.  Your Answer is desired on Thursday next                                                   I am etc    CP

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
