I perceive by my steward at Fallowfeild that one of my workemen Benjamin Frost has Listed him self under you he is an Extrordionary good workeman it Will be a very great Loss for me to part with him besides he has a wife and famiy which will be a Charge to me in case you take him I must own your great Civility to my steward Mr Peart & when you come into yorkeshire shall be mighty glad to see you at Newby which is the Direct Road to London If I may be serviceable to you in this County you may Command your obliged humble servt

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
