Charles Seymour, (1662-1748) was the 6th Duke of Somerset & had inherited the Northumberland estates of the Percy family following h8is marriage of heiress Elizaeth Thynne, nee Percy in 1682. Robert Darcy the 3rd Earl of Holderness, was appointed Lord Lieutenant of the North Riding of Yorkshire in 1714
