	I had returnd you my Thanks long before this for yr noble present but the man that brought it prompt to me so <neatly> before he returnd to Yorke, I must Own was as fine a pike as ever I see. We had it roasted and it Eat Extraordinarily well and we drunk the <D…> health. If I knew any thing in this part of the County that was a <Rarity> with you it should be sent by yr assured friend

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
