Dear Sir Janry 3 1709/10 Am Mightily concerned to hear by Severall hands of yr being very ill of a Sore Throat, should be very glad of the satisfaction of a line under yr own hand of yr Perfect Recovery I hear there is very great Stickling at Ripon about Chusing their Mayor, which you know is to be this day, Severall of the Aldermen finding that <Ald Ripley> will certainly be a light has made their utmost Endeav’r to the four & twenty not to elect <friend> [struck out: ‘Ald Ripley’] and as much interst made as ever there was for a Parlim’nt Man, Ald.
