Mr Atkinson

I perceive by yours of the 11th that you have sent me a present of Fish, wch I am very much obliged to you for, & I do not in the least doubt but it will come safe to hand, I came to York some time ago & designs to stay till after May day, wth my humble Service to Mr Rogers & his family I am

Mr Atkinson is a tenant, gardener possibly renting gardens somewhere, then gardener at Newby.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
