December 22 Sr Inclosed you have the may day Acc[oun]t for Winlaton Rents signd I perceive you suffer every half year greater and greater Arrears to stand out which you charge to my debit you very well remember our agreement was that I was to pay you half yearly and you were obligd to pay me the rents three months after due from the ten[an]ts tho not paid by them & below you have a Copy of the Letter which I Writ you upon our agreement tho Mr Wilkinson be Dillitory in makeing pays I know no reason that I should suffer for his remissness I am of opinion that it is not like to be otherways till we have a peace but when that will be god knows If you think the raising of money for makeing good the differences of Winlaton rents be any Inconveniency to you pray acq[ain]t me for should be very unwilling that any affairs should make you uneasy for I Expect to have my rents paid punctually according to our agreement and no arrears hereafter Chargd to my acc[oun]t I sent my servant over on purpose to be E[n]rolld in the Oastmans books which I Desire you will see Done & youl oblige Your assured friend Pray give my service to Mr Alderman Fenwick whom I beleive is the Governour
No addressee but as the letter is about Winlaton and Thomas Brummell had been appointed agent there, it is assumed to have been for him.
