In Durham                                                                        Newcas[tle] 19th Jan[ua]ry 1766

Sir            A few days ago I received the Lease and Release and the probet of the will which was sent you by Mr Darwin and shall return them to him by S[i]r W[alte]r Blackett who sets out for London on Tuesday next. Sir W[alte]r bids me give his service to you and desire you will as soon as possible procure the order about the Copyhold part of Woodcroft Estate which these deeds were sent down to enable you to obtain for till it is obtained some affairs which he wants to settle must stand still. I shall therefore be glad to have a line from you soon upon this subject for S[i]r W[alte]rs satisfaction. I have this day rece[ive]d your Letter inclosing me the new Lease of Redburn and the receipt for the fine etc and shall be glad to see you there that I may discharge what S[i]r W[alte]r owes you on this acco[un]t in the mean time I am etc   HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
