To Mr. Chrisr. Johnson Attorney at Law Newcas. 4th Novr. 1772 In Durham Sir I see by the News Papers that a Comission is issued from the Court of Chancery for proving the Will & Debts of John Wm. Bacon Forster Esqr.; to be opened next Monday in this Town. His Executors owe Sir Wr. Blackett, for their Proportion of Weardale Rents Compositions etc for the years 1769, 1770 & 1771 the Sum of £100. 6s. 10d as by the Accot. which I sent to Mr Danl. Alder on the 26th of May last & which he wrote me he had sent to you, as the acting Trustee. I desire therefore to know whether you will Pay this Sum or what is to be done about It. for you must allow it will be particularly hard upon Sir Walter if he is not reimbursed this Money without further delay. As to the Postea on the Indictment of the Road from Edmonbiers to Blaydon I hope you have found it before this & sent it to Mr. Darwin - for in your Letter to me on the 3d. May last in answer to what I wrote you about it on the 29th. April you say - “I have reccd your favour & have got the Record drawn up Pursuant to your Instructions, which shall be sent to Mr Darwin in two or three Days” I am etc HR
