To Christr Teasdale Esqr in Chichester Sussex Newca[stle] the 27th May 1768 Sir I received your Letter desiring me to pay the intrest money when due for the last Year to Mr Alcock and that his receipt shall be a sufficient discharge. I would readily have done so as soon as the intrest is due which will not be till 13th Augst; but Mr Alcock does not chuse to give me a receipt in the form that is necessary, such a one as is below; and therefore I see no other way but for you to sign it & return it to him against the time the money is due and on his producing it to me I will pay him the money. I am etc HR 1768 Augst Received of Sir Walter Blackett Bt by Henry Richmond the sum of Twenty pounds five shillings being a year’s intrest of £450 at 4 ½ p[er]Cent[u]m due to me the 13th instt on his bond to my Brother Lieutt Wm Teasdale deceased dated 13th Augst 1764 - I say received the same as Ex[ecu]tor of my said Brother.
