To Daniel Dew Esqr. at The Bishop of Durhams Newcas. 29th Octor. 1771 Palace in Durham Sir I acquainted Sir Walter Blackett that His Lordship expects Four hundred pounds for inserting Mr Trevelyan’s Life in Weardale Leases in the room of Thos. Hepples; But tho Sir Walter, for the particular reasons I mentioned to you, inclined to make that Alteration: yet he cannot give the Sum asked for it. Two hundred pounds is all he thinks it worth, & That is at His Lordships Service, if he pleases. Sir Walter desires his Compliments to his Lordship & is much obliged to Him for what you mentioned about a deputation for the Game on the Moors in Weardale; but finding his distance from that part of the Country will not allow him to <receive> the Office as he could wish he cannot think of giving His Lordship any trouble about it.
