Sir

	I received your Letter that you intend to finish this ensuing Summer the Road through Middle Ord Estate, which you were to have done about four Years ago;  I do not know that Sir Walter Blackett will now chuse to have it finished; for your Letter came so little a while before he set out for London that there was not time to consider the Matter, & so I can give you no Answer to it    I am etc                                                                        HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
