To Mr Geo Douglass in Berwick Newc[astle] 19th Mar 1767 I rec[eiv]ed your Letter of the 17th inst[an]t about the road, the 40 Acres of ground & the pitmen’s houses w[hi]ch you and your partners want on acco[un]t of the Colliery. As to the road & the ground I cannot say any thing at present but with regard to the Pitmens houses, whatever orders you have received from Mr Wm Robson about them you may carry into execution as I don’t doubt but S[i]r Wr Blackett will approve of & allow the same on yo[u]r producing vouchers for your payments. I am sorry you have so bad a fishery. The price of refined Lead is £15 10s 0d p[er] fo[the]r but you know I cannot furnish you with any but my means of our Merchants unless you pay me ready money on giving the tickett. I am etc HR
