To Mr Geo Douglass Plumber in Berwick                                              Newca[stle] 28 June 1768 

Sir

Mr Bell & Mr Brown will be at Tweedmouth on Tuesday the 12 of next month when I hope all matters will be got settled about the pitmen’s houses & the Road. I hope also the Rent for the fishery will be ready & that you will be so good as acquaint the other Tenants of their coming that they may be ready also with their rents. If it sho[ul]d be convenient you may at the same time pay Mr Bell the Colliery rent. I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
