Sir

I have received your Letters of the 24th Ulto & 4th instant & was preparing to answer the former tho’ not with the Dispatch you seem to have expected but your latter Letter has stop’d me in my Progress by the Difficulties you raise about Sir Walter’s Title to the Coalmines under the Estate of East Ord & your saying it will be to no purpose to lay the Abstract before Mr Selby’s Counsel without some Satisfaction being given you in this particular - I have laid your Letter before Sir Walter Blackett & he says if Mr Selby is not satisfied with such Title as appears upon the Face of the Abstract I sent you and his Covenant for peaceable Enjoymt he desires there may be an End of the Treaty and therefore I shall wait for your Answer whether the above Title will be satisfactory to Mr Selby or no.

                                                                             I am etc HR
