To Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield Newcas[tle] 10 Octo[be]r 1766 Sir I have received by the Hexham carrier a box containing two pieces of silver from your refinery; one of them weighs four hundred and forty two ounces and the other three hundred & eighty one ounces. I am very sorry you have not been able to get the Allanheads Lead away this year, if other people were advancing their prices we should have done so too if I had known it. Pray what is Mr Harrison about that he has not sent me his Aug[u]st acco[un]t yet. I would not have any more lead delivered from that mill, any more than Allanheads. As to what shall be delivered after this from Dukesfield Mill you must take care to see it does not lye & not to deliver faster than Mr Reynaldson can get it away, that we may have the ways as clear as possible this winter. P.S. The waste is very great by your new furnace; I hope it is only owing to the newness of it and that the next piece will answer better. If you find any of the lead refined made at your new furnace you should contrive to let Mr Mulcaster understand the marks that he may not melt it once again; as he is obliged to do all that was made at the hearth. I am etc HR
