Letter – Henry Richmond to Isaac Hunter – 11 Jan 1763

To Mr I Hunter at Dukesfield                                                          Newcastle 11 January 1763



Sir/ I have recd the pay bills safe & desire you will acquaint Mr Salkeld so & thank him for his trouble for filling them up. I am very glad, in making the agreement with Walton that you left yourself at Liberty in Case of Old Angus’s irresolution or rather artifice of wch I was always apprehensive; & you will see with some reason, by the Lre I sent you by his 2 sons dated the 7th inst. & wch I hope they bro[ugh]t you safe as they undertook to do. If the old man will not consent to Walton’s entering upon the farm at Mayday next, and if you & his two sons cant agree upon the same terms or better than Walton’s were; then there can nothing more be done for him and he must keep the farm till May day 1764 & this you will make him perfectly to understand that he is to do.  P.S. There is some talk of dividing Bollihope Comon if it sho[ul]d take place, whoever takes Woodcroft sho[ul]d agree to pay Sir Walter 7 <per cent> upon the money paid out in inclosing the Allotment.
