To Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield                                         Newcas[tle] 13th May 1766

Sir     I wish Mr Harrison could confirm to work up all the ore he may have at Rookhope Mill, at the end of this month, distinctly from what he may receive after it; and let me know what lead he makes from it, both at the ore and slag hearth. If you think this can be done, by laying separately what he may receive after the 31st instant, pray order it accordingly; and let an account be sent me, signed by him as soon as it is completed. Pray ask Mr Salkeld if your Father ever sent him to demand rent of Fra[nci]s Jacques  and what answer he got; for I suppose your Father is not well enough to give any testimony, if it should be wanted, of what Jaques ever said to him; when he as asked him for rent. The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
